Peter is a veteran performer with over thirty years on the Midwest music scene. He delivers a powerful vocal performance complimented by sizzling flat-picked leads and rock-solid rhythm work. Peter began cultivating his musical skills at the age of 13 playing the local Honky-tonks around Chicago.
Mentored by and with local musical greats, he quickly became part the emerging Chicago Folk Music scene of the 1970's. During the summers, he hit the road, performing at Music Festivals and Colleges throughout the country. The 1980's brought Peter to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he worked the stages in hard-core country bands and performed regularly at the legendary Cains Ballroom, the original home of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Peter has shared stages with Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, George Strait, Emmy Lou Harris, Bill Monroe, Ray Price, Doc Watson, Norman Blake, Jethro Burns, Dan Crary, David Grisman and Tony Rice.
In the studios, he has played on many projects, hosted live bluegrass radio shows in Chicago and Oklahoma and performed for TV and film documentary soundtracks.
Whether he is belting out a bluegrass classic or drawing the audience to the edge of their seats with one of his haunting original songs, Peter's performances come straight from the heart. Along with his superb musicianship, Peter's comedic timing and dry wit are a highlight of every Chicago Bluegrass Band show.
The Chicago Bluegrass Band (a.k.a. CBB) delivers slamming traditional bluegrass music with a big-city style and a mountain soul. Comprised of die-hard bluegrass musicians, each member brings years of bluegrass devotion to the sound ...over 100 years in total. Featuring a blend of traditional bluegrass sound by the likes of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and the Stanley Brothers, the band's forte is a healthy diet of original tunes about hard-times, love, death, and home.
As spirited performers with diverse talents, The CBB sparks audiences wherever they perform. The band has toured nationally and Internationally and still is willing to share their love of traditional American music. The band is best known for great originals, true vocal harmonies, driving bluegrass instrumentals, and distinctive arrangements of bluegrass classics. Whether on stage at the Chicago Country Music Festival, or a bluegrass festival in an Indiana cornfield, the band gives audiences a heavy dose of energy and soul.
Folks ask; "Where do you play?"...well, We've played a variety of venues, from a Sauna Festival in Finland to the Indiana State Penitentiary, and most everything in between.
