This is an epic poem performed by the Moonitics improv group as a piece of reader's theater. It was written as an homage to the poet Edward Dorn, author of the epic poem, Gunslinger. The story is also a tribute to Native American thought and ideas and incorporates the ideas of Thomas Berry (Dream of the Earth, Sierra Club Books) as well. The performance includes some music and the players performing the parts of the characters (all animals). The narrative starts in Ft. Wayne and moves down the river to Battle Ground, Indiana. Along the way, the characters move both through space and time. The story begins just after the beginning of the creation of The Northwest Territory. The characters include a talking rabbit, bear, beaver, otter, and deer.
The production is directed by Cindy Davis and features, Bev Woods, Kathleen Husband, Kevin Hardee, Howard Gibbs, Dan Shuppert, Bernie Stoughton, Vera Tiani, George Schricker, and
Cynthia Davis. The poem was written by George Schricker.
