HOW DOES MARSHALL COUNTY PREPARE TO COMPETE FOR JOBS
AND BUSINESS IN THE 21ST CENTURY GLOBAL ECONOMY?
Members of the media and the public are invited (at no charge) to Forum on the Future, May 14 at Christos Banquet Center, Plymouth, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Just look at today's gasoline prices and you'll get a glimpse of how structural changes in the global economy are impacting Marshall County. But the seismic shifts don't stop with skyrocketing fuel prices; structural changes are happening in numerous economic, demographic, and cultural forces pulsing throughout buying-and-selling decisions from turbo-charged markets in Shanghai, China, to state-of-the-art steelmaking furnaces along the Lake Michigan shoreline of Northern Indiana.

WorkOne Northern Indiana is bringing futurist Ed Barlow to Marshall County to provide a two-pronged message: First, the global-economy structural changes are bigger and more important for the finances of local communities and individuals than you may have realized; and Second, specific and practical response measures to adapt to these structural changes are available to Marshall County organizations as well as residents, students and workers.

WorkOne invites you to explore the trends affecting our lives and jobs at the Forum on the Future, featuring Ed Barlow. His message is detailed, supported by extensive research and uplifting because he explains ways to cope with these changes.

Marshall County has its own Problem Waste Collection Facility. The facility is designed to better serve residential households and small businesses in Marshall County. Most of the problem wastes accepted at the facility are recycled or reused in some way.
