Excel Driving Instruction is the State-licensed driving school in Marshall County. This summer Excel's Plymouth classes will meet 10 weekends for 3 hours per class. In addition, students will sign up for 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving instruction. Excel's cars will drive in Plymouth on weekdays and weekends. Excel's Plymouth classroom is located at Crossroads Academy, 1800 Jim Neu Drive. In July, classes will meet in the afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, July 21 through August 1. In August, there will be an evening class from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, August 4 through August 15.

Gayton and John Marks of Alternate Building Systems of Plymouth, have recently joined the ranks of independent Wick builders. ABS is now part of the network of independent builders who serve Wick Buildings market for post frame construction. Alternate Building Systems supplies and subcontracts pre-engineered steel conventional stud and post frame structures in Indiana, Michigan and Illinois. Gayton and John recently attended a new builders orientation at Wick Buildings east region facility in St. Paris, Ohio where they met other builders and in-house staff. Wick Buildings emphasizes builder education through an on-going series of company-sponsored seminars, training sessions and annual sales meetings.

Next year ABS will be celebrating 20 years of service to the construction industry.

The Marshall County Historical Society will hold their 32nd Annual Dinner meeting on Monday, April 28 at Christo's Banquet Center. Social hour starts at 6:30 PM with the meal at 7:00 PM. Vince Turner, Vice President of Development and Public Relations at Bashor Children's Home will present the program for the evening. Vince was a sports director in Elkhart and also anchored sports for B-100 and WRBR in South Bend. He did Play-by-Play at Notre Dame basketball games and was a Notre Dame football correspondent. He also was a newscaster for several Fort Wayne radio stations and a sports columnist for the Elkhart Truth. Vince has won many awards over the years for his involvement as a sports writer and newscaster. The expansion plans for the Historical Society & Museum will be unveiled at the dinner. This is also a time to recognize the volunteers many accomplishments. The next set of playing cards (Bourbon High School and Lincoln High School) will be available that evening. Earning the ARM designation requires completion of a series of courses and national examinations covering the essentials of risk management, risk control, and risk financing.
