Chamber's Annual Dinner Honors Community Service
The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominees for their annual awards program honoring citizens who have made, by their selfless service, contributions for the betterment of our area communities.

The awards presented are for:
Distinguished Citizen: awarded to a person who has made positive contributions to the quality of life in the Plymouth area.

- Distinguished Citizen Recipients:
2001 Chuck Glaub
2002 Bishop William C.R. Sheridan
2003 Dr. Rev. Ronald Liechty

Volunteer: awarded to a person who contributes volunteer talents and time to worthwhile organizations.

- Volunteer Recipients:
2001 Irene Vieweg
2002 Jack Stapleton
2003 Therese (Tess) Greer

Youth Service: awarded to a person who demonstrates exemplary service to the youth of the community.

- Youth Service Recipients:
2001 Leonard and Joanne Isban
2002 Everett Wallace
2003 Jay King

Public Servant: awarded to the person who demonstrates outstanding leadership in the public sector.
- Public Servant Recipients:
2001 Donnie Davidson
2002 Bill Gee
2003 Jack L. Davis
These honors may be given to people who qualify through lifetime achievement or extraordinary contributions in the past year. A five-person committee, separate from the Chamber, will select the Distinguished Citizen based on the nominations turned into the committee. The Distinguished Citizen award also includes a $500.00 check from the Chamber donated in the Distinguished Citizen's name to a charity of the recipient's choice. Each award recipient will receive a plaque and another plaque will be located at the Chamber office with award winners' names posted. 

Executive Director, Doug Anspach, explains, "Our community is home to a number of individuals who have made Plymouth a better place to live, work and raise a family over the past 30 - 40 years. I believe we need to recognize those people in an appropriate public venue."

Nomination forms are available at the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce, Bookworm Inc., Grand Rental Station, Sears, and Treat's Squire Shop. Nominations may also be submitted online.

Completed forms need to be returned to the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce, 120 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, by April 12, 2004.

Awards will be presented at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on May 6, 2004 at Christo's Banquet Center. The cost is $15.00 per person. Our entire community is invited to participate and attend.
