 Marshall County Community Foundation, located at 2701 N. Michigan St., announces its second round of grants available beginning January 1, 2000. Individuals and organizations desiring to apply for a grant should contact the Marshall County Community Foundation offices at 935-5159 for an application. Grant applications are due back by August 1, 2000. Applications will be reviewed by the Grants Committee of the Community Foundation and will be acted upon by the Board of Directors during their September meeting. Fitness Forum, located at 13940 7C Rd, Plymouth (north of Kmart), is now offering early morning options for physical fitness. Doors open Monday through Friday at 4:30 a.m. and Saturday at 7 a.m. A group exercise is held during the summer form 6:30 to 7"30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Manpower, Inc., located at 322 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, is sponsoring two days of community fun at "Manpower Days at Six Flags Great America" on Saturday, August 12 and on Saturday, August 19. Call Cynthia Potts at Manpower at 935-5517 for ticket information and other details.
Marshall County Hospice, located at 112 S. Center St., Suite C, Plymouth, serves Marshall, Fulton, Starke, and parts of LaPorte and St. Joseph Counties. Hospice accepts persons with any terminal disease, not just cancer, and anyone can refer to Hospice, not just a doctor. No person has ever been turned down for services due to the inability to pay for services. Hospice does provide services in Extended Care Facilities (nursing homes). Hospice provides skilled nursing, volunteer services, spiritual support, psycho-social support and bereavement services. Marshall County Hospice will be conducting its fourth annual WALK FOR HOSPICE October 8th this year. Last year 500 walkers raised over $57,000 in support of their work with the terminally ill and their families.
