City Government Online
Clerk-Treasurer Toni Hutchings has announced the creation of a website to better serve the customers of the City of Plymouth.

This is a new endeavor for the City of Plymouth. Web sites are fast becoming the quickest way to obtain information needed. This new site is being designed to allow taxpayers and residents 24-hours access to a variety of city related information. Current items that are now available on this site are Code of Ordinances, the 1999 City Election Results (names, addresses, phone numbers), City Directory (phone and email directory), Meeting dates for the various City Boards and the City history.

In development are City of Plymouth Zoning Ordinance, City of Plymouth Subdivision Ordinance, City of Plymouth Standards and Specifications, City of Plymouth Drainage Ordinance and the 2003 Calendar of Events. Each city department will have a page reflecting the information their office can provide residents.

After visiting this site, Hutchings is asking interested individuals to call (936-2124) or e-mail (clerktreas@plymouthin.com) her office with suggestions as to what information they would like available on the web site. Each request will be considered on an individual basis and will need to be considered for legality.

From the Director, US Census Bureau
This Chamber has received a letter form the Director of the US Census Bureau asking us to get the word out about the 2002 Economic Census forms that will be arriving at 820 businesses in Marshall County. The 820 are among 5 million American businesses that will receive this census form. Responding to this economic census form is so important that it is required by law. The forms must be returned by February 12, 2003.

Reliable economic data is important. Every five years, the Economic Census develops a comprehensive portrait of the American economy from the national to the local level. It updates economic indicators like Gross Domestic Product and provides invaluable business facts we all need to plan for years to come.

Economic Census data is used to help communities attract business, encourage economic growth, and is important information for businesses to have for marketing, planning, and investment decisions.

You are encouraged to fill out the Economic Census forms as soon as they arrive. You can find more information about the 2002 census on the Web at www.census.gov/econ2002.
