Ellen M. Vellner, personal insurance specialist in the personal insurance division of Gibson Insurance Group has been awarded the Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) designation by the Insurance Institute of America. Earning the AIS designation requires completion of a series of courses and national examinations covering property and liability insurance principles, personal and commercial insurance, insurance policy analysis, and the principles of total quality management for insurance personnel. Gibson Insurance Group is a multi-line insurance broker and risk management service firm employing 70 employees with offices in South Bend and Plymouth.

Carol Anders has joined the staff of WTCA-1050 AM Radio. She assumes a multi-duty role with their sales staff along with designing and implementing special promotions. She has taught creative writing classes for over twenty years and will use her skills to custom design radio copy for WTCA clients. Other duties will include reporting on local news stories and community events. In addition to her responsibilities with WTCA, she is the debate coach for Plymouth High School and a Community Coordinator for placing international exchange students for CESTUSA.

Marshall County Community Foundation

The Grants Committee of the MC Community Foundation is pleased to announce the inclusion of “Capacity Building Grants” for new organizations. The purpose of these grants is to allow organizations that have been 100% volunteer based to add their first paid staff member. Consideration for this grant will cover purpose of the organization, its history, its activities and service to the community. Grants of this nature will not be for rent, utilities, insurance and benefits for any other administrative expense. The Grant Committee will also consider if the organization is capable of matching any funds for the viability and sustainability of the organization.

5 Boys Productions joined the Plymouth Chamber. These past several months, this new entertainment production company has been working diligently to offer this community “After Hours Comedy.” If you have watched and enjoyed Drew Carey's "Whose Line Is It, Anyway?" or the sketches from Saturday Night Live, or gone to Second City in Chicago, then you have the idea as to the entertainment experience 5 Boys Productions is producing right here in Plymouth.
