City of Plymouth - The Mayor's office would like to thank the Street Department for their efforts and their willingness to work in 12 hour shifts around the clock to serve the citizens of Plymouth with their snow removal efforts in this unprecedented snowfall. In addition, Mayor Greenlee urges a renewed effort for neighbor to help neighbor, especially senior citizens, who want to, but can't get out to do their sidewalks. The Mayor urges the volunteer spirit of Plymouth to come alive once again and resurface at this time of significant snowfall cleanup. The Mayor's Office will be the clearing house for volunteers for assistance and if you are in need of assistance or are willing to volunteer, please call the Mayor's Office at 936-6717. The Mayor's Office will attempt to coordinate requests for assistance with volunteers. The Mayor would like to personally thank everyone in advance for their willingness to work together.

Chase Leasing Corp. located at 1050 Markley Drive, is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement with Kirk NationaLease in Sidney, Ohio to form a joint venture. The new entity will be called Chase NationaLease, Ltd. Final closing of this transaction is scheduled for late January. All employees will reporting to Greg Martin, President of Kirk NationaLease. In addition, they have reached an agreement to sell Chase Transportation, Inc. and Chase Logistic Services, LLC to KBT, Inc. Final closing of this transaction is scheduled for late January as well. Chase Transportation and Chase Logistics employees will report to Rick Joseph, President of KBT, Inc. Chase will be working with Kirk NationaLease and KBT to make this transition seamless to all of their customers. They feel Kirk and KBT are in an excellent position to continue the Chase tradition of outstanding service. Kirk NationaLease operates 26 facilities in 6 states. KBT is a dedicated and contract carrier with 6 locations in 4 states. Both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of KNL Holding Company.
Marshall County Community Foundation located in the Key Bank building on North Michigan Street announces its first round of grants available beginning January 1, 1999. Individuals and organizations desiring to apply for a grant should contact the Marshall County Community Foundation offices at 935-5159 for an application. Grant applications are due back by February 1, 1999. Applications will be reviewed by the Grants Committee of the Community Foundation and will be acted upon by the Board of Directors during their March meeting. Grants in 1998 totaled $80,000 and were awarded to worthwhile projects throughout Marshall County. For further information contact R. Comtech, Inc. located at 109 Water Street in Plymouth announces that at a recent Board of Directors meeting that James W. Daugherty II was named the new President of Comtech, Inc. His new duties will take effect on 1-1-99. Daugherty was promoted from Vice-President, a position he has held the last 12 years. James' vision has always played a large part in Comtech's success. He, along with his late partner, Joe Currens Sr., founded Comtech in 1987. His tenure as Vice-President will be remembered as years of tremendous growth and prosperity for the company. His leadership has landed Comtech numerous awards and distinctions. Most notably the Indiana University Growth 100 award consecutively in 1997 and 1998. This award honors Indiana's top 100 fastest growing small business. Comtech has also received Lucent Technologies VAR awards which has developed a solid relationship with Lucent Technologies. Daugherty will continue to lend his talents at Comtech day to day in every aspect as he takes the company into the next generation. Comtech and its clients will greatly benefit from his leadership, knowledge and strength in the data network industry. James is a 1975 graduate of Plymouth High School and received his degree in Electronic Engineering from ITT in 1977. He has lived his entire life in Plymouth, he and his wife, Susan, formally Susan Currens have two children, James W. Daugherty III and Hannah M. Daugherty. ----- During the annual Comtech Christmas party it was announced that Judith A. Currens will step down as President of Comtech, Inc. as she was recently named the Chairman of the Board during the last meeting of the Board of Directors. Her new duties will take effect on 1-1-99. Currens' talents will be greatly appreciated as she moves into her new position as Chairman. Judi's 12 years of service to Comtech has helped the company grow and prosper. She served as President for the past ten years following the death of her husband Joe Currens Sr. in 1989. She will continue to work day to day at Comtech overseeing the Purchasing Department. Judi has lived in Marshall County for 35 years, moving from Culver to Plymouth in 1990. Judi has three children and three grandchildren.
