Collins and Company GMAC Real Estate is now Collins and Company Realtors, Inc. Owner Chris Collins announced today that he has dropped the GMAC Real Estate franchise in favor of going independent. 'We've been associated with a real estate franchise for the past 20 years,' noted Collins. 'The first 15 years were with Better Homes and Gardens, which was acquired by the financing giant GMAC about 5 years ago. We had a great relationship with both franchises but feel our royalty fees could be better spent advertising in our local market.' Other than the name change everything will stay the same at the Collins office. 'We actually are expecting a boost in our referral network available only to independent brokers' Collins stated. Collins and Company has offices in Plymouth and Bremen with plans to open a branch in Culver in 2006. Collins was recently recognized by the local board of realtors for celebrating his 30th year of business in Plymouth.
