Museum Still Open During Construction
The Museum Expansion project is underway! October 14th, the Marshall County Historical Society kicked off a $1,113,461 renovation project to expand its museum into the two adjacent buildings, doubling the size of their facility and providing more opportunities for historic education and preservation in the Marshall County area.
As construction intensifies, exhibit space will be reconfigured and the Upper Level will be closed for several months, but the museum will remain open during the entire project. 'It is important to us to be able to continue serving patrons during this process,' said Executive Director, Linda Rippy. Work has begun on both the external and internal restoration of the buildings. As the weather becomes more wintry, there will be fewer changes visible from the outside, but the inside is progressing daily. Look for future updates throughout the renovation.
The museum's hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. If you have questions when planning a visit, you can find information on the website www.mchistoricalsociety.org or call 574-936-2306.
