This year marks the 20th Year Memorial Service in honor of our fallen Firefighters to be held at the Plymouth Amphitheater. The Plymouth Firefighters would appreciate you joining them on this day of remembrance.

Taking part in the service will be the Emerald Society, Starke County Firemen's Honor Guard, Mike Burroughs, Marsha Wainscott, IVFA Chaplin, Charlie Baker, Father Bernie Galich and Plymouth Fire Chief John Brown.

Proceeds from the Golf Outing will once again be used to help support the Chamber-sponsored "Plymouth Pride Program" at Plymouth High School.

WORKPLACE VIOLENCE

Unfortunately, workplace violence is on the rise across the country, but there IS help. The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce will bring you an important opportunity to learn how to identify workplace violence potential and how to deal with it IF it occurs.

Don't miss your opportunity to find out more from Sarah Duecker, from ASPIN (Affiliated Service Providers of Indiana), a not-for-profit group of 10 community mental health centers located across Indiana. Clyde Avery, the Plymouth Police Chief will be on hand to give you valuable information on this highly charged subject.

Fee: $40 for members, $25 for Not-for-Profit and $75 for non-members (per person) includes seminar, any materials and continental breakfast.

Do you feel like you're doing the same thing for every workout? Have you stopped working out and know you need to get started? Have you walked the same miles on the treadmill for three years? Are you getting bored and fighting to keep your workout routine alive? Are you staying disciplined but not seeing enough result? WOW! Fitness Forum has a challenge for you!

5K KAMP! This is for all ages . . . all fitness levels . . . all genders! How can "one size fit all?" Here's the scoop. 5K (Kilometers) is 3.1 miles. This summer you can train to accomplish a new goal . . . to walk, jog, or run the 5K Blueberry Race. It's easy. 5K Kamp will train you. Whatever your fitness level is now, that's where you begin. The program will supervise your training and progress your fitness level until you are able to accomplish 3.1 miles. If you have never gone that far, your goal may be to walk at a comfortable pace and finish. If you can already run 3.1 miles, your goal may be to accomplish your personal best speed on race day.

NEW THIS YEAR: "Kids Too" (ages 5-10) can come along and train for the 1 mile Fun Run!!!

Join the FUN. Meet the CHALLENGE. 5K Kamp has several goals:
  1. To help you get out of a rut
  2. To challenge your safely beyond what you thought you could do
  3. To work towards a goal together with other "fellow fitness fanatics"
  4. To improve your fitness level
  5. To burn calories
  6. To give you a FREE t-shirt
  7. To experience race day together
5K Kamp will meet 3 times each week from July 15th through August 28th. Race Day is Labor Day during blueberry Festival, September 2nd. Sessions will include:
  • walk/runs progressing to 3.1 miles
  • verbal and handout information on walking/running, target heart rate, apparel, and more
  • team leader for each session
  • physical therapist on call for your minor training related aches and pains
If interested contact Fitness Forum to register your preference for morning or evening sessions, 936-2333. There will be a $20.00 fee to help cover costs of the program.

PERSONS WITH ONE OR MORE RISK FACTORS FOR HEART DISEASE WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A PHYSICIAN'S PERMISSION SLIP SIGNED. PERMISSION SLIPS AVAILABLE AT FITNESS FORUM. RISK FACTORS INCLUDE: HEART DISEASE, CIGARETTE SMOKING, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, HIGH CHOLESTEROL, DIABETES, FAMILY HISTORY OF HEART DISEASE. (NON-MEMBERS ARE ALSO WELCOME!)
