Russell Studio is celebrating its 100th year of portrait photography. Founded in Chicago in 1905 and moved to Culver in 1986, the studio has specialized in doing heirloom portraits at home throughout the Eastern two-thirds of the nation, senior portraits at Culver Military Academy and area high schools starting in 1918 and destination weddings from Florida to Vermont. An added specialty has been creation of oil paintings from selected photographic poses by its artist in San Juan Capistrano, California. The studio also boasts the area's only portrait park, complete with large pond, fountain and waterfall. Sample portraits are on display at Penguin Point, Treats for Her and Christo's Banquet Center. Studio patrons include a Pope, five U.S. Presidents, Norman Rockwell for two covers of The Saturday Evening Post, Lee Iacocca, Billy Graham, former Miss America Linda Lee Meade, and Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Mike Miley from Gibson Insurance Group, with offices in South Bend & Plymouth, recently had the opportunity to listen to President George W. Bush discuss business, economic and other national issues at the National Legislative Conference of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (the Big "I") in Washington, D.C. The legislative meeting allowed Mike to discuss important issues to the residents of both Plymouth & South Bend with his congressional representatives. President Bush was the fifth president to address the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America. The Big ìIî National Legislative Conference sent Mike home with a new body of understanding, knowledge, and awareness regarding the issues that face his customers, business, and the economy of this state and community.

Ancilla has scheduled informational meetings for its accelerated business administration program in July at various locations. Designed for today's busy working professionals, the accelerated format of five weeks per class shortens classroom time to less than half that of traditional 16-week courses. Each class meets once a week from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. in the evening. Interested individuals are invited to attend an informational meeting at the Henry F. The Plymouth Park Department will hold its First Annual Family Fun Day at Young Amphitheatre on July 16. The fun-filled day will begin at 10:00 A.M. with Ken and Carl, ìThe Balloon Guysî making balloon creations for all the children. Jetta and the Jellybeans will hold two performances at Young Amphitheatre, one at 11:30 and one at 1:00. The organized Family Fun Day at the Amphitheatre will end at 2:00, but plan to spend the entire day at the park!
