Cardinal Cab Company has a long Plymouth history. In March of 1973, Alfred and Vicki Himes started the Universal Cab Company. For 25 years, this company served Plymouth and the surrounding communities. After Mr. Himes' death in March of 1998, Doug and Vicki (Himes) Robinson continued the same friendly service, using the same phone number (936-6244), but changing the name to Cardinal Cab Company. This June 1, Cardinal Cab Company added an additional cab for quicker and more convenient service, with a third cab addition expected in October to take care of their expanding business.
Elite Travel, Inc. - Located at 507 E. Jefferson Street, will hold a "GARAGE SALE" on Saturday, July 17th in the parking lot of Christo's Banquet Center. The garage sale is to raise money for the Annual Marshall County Walk for Hospice. They are also looking for organizations interested in sponsoring a child on a trip to Kings Island through the Marshall County Boys and Girls Club on July 9, 1999. Sponsor fee is $56.00 per child. Edward Jones, the largest investment firm with over 5,000 branches, is expanding in Plymouth. John Chamberlin has joined the firm and will be partnering with Dan Schmelter for the next 18 months. John will open a new office at the end of 2000. John and his wife, Julie (Langdon), are previous Plymouth natives and have lived in Ft. Wayne since 1991. John and Julie have a daughter, Nicole, who will be attending Western Michigan University on a golf scholarship. Dan and John are excited about this expansion in Plymouth and look forward to the increased service it will provide to their customers.
