This is a signature fund-raising event in the fight against cancer. This year the event has an 'Hawaiian Theme.' Teams may set up campsites to stay overnight and join a special community of people dedicated to this 12 hour celebration of hope and homage. Activities include a 'Survivor Lap' around the track with a special recognition memento. After dark, there's a 'Luminaria Ceremony' with lighted candles in white paper sacks lining the track and on the side of the hill, spelling out the word 'HOPE.' The sacks have names and pictures in honor or memory of those who have fought cancer. This evening includes speakers, singers and bands. Food, Coca-Cola and water will be available free to participants. Face painting, Moon Walk and Cotton Candy may be purchased as part of the fund raising efforts. If you have never experienced this night of community and fellowship, try it out. Come for the opening ceremonies at 6:00 PM and stay as long as you wish. You may want to put a team together next year and participate in total. It really is a great experience.

May 10th marked the 6th month anniversary of the newest fitness facility for women - Curves. Located in the Plymouth Center, Curves now has a membership of 350 members. Curves is a 30-minute fitness and weight-loss facility designed especially for women. It specializes in a friendly environment that allows each member to workout at any convenient time.
