Chamber Members - New Service Communication Options
Your Chamber is trying out a new service. The purpose is to be able to reach our members even more quickly with news that will benefit your business, opportunities and “heads up” warnings. In many cases, time is vital and receiving the information is also vital. We want to improve our communication with our members and we want you to expect to hear from us.

Example: Some time ago, we were made aware that there was an individual selling advertising leading people to believe that he represented this Chamber. We immediately started getting the word out. After most of a day and a half e-mailing, placing phone calls, and faxing, we finally put a notice in the newspaper. Sometime later, we received a phone call from one of our members wanting to ask a question about the ad they had just taken out with this individual. Our member, like us, was stunned that our information had not reached their desk. While the advertising may not have been a bad opportunity, our member would not have placed the ad if they had known we were not promoting it. (by the way, we always pre-prep our members to advertising opportunities that we find for you).

This new service (we are experimenting with) will send our messages quickly and consistently by creating a single message that will be immediately broadcasted to our members by phone, fax, e-mail or all of the devices. This system will tell us if you have not received the message, giving us the opportunity to resend the message until you have received the message successfully. What we need from you is your best method of communication. We will be doing test runs, pre-selecting groupings in the address book that seem to be the most likely communication method we have for you. As you receive the test messages, please let us know if you would prefer a different method.

The message is designed to start out with “This is a message from your Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce” followed by our communication. If we need to have you respond to a question, this system will give you the opportunity to respond immediately (yes, no, maybe) or you may respond with any additional comments. Otherwise, you having received the message successfully will be noted automatically for us.

This new service is called Sprint Messenger. The service has the capability of creating a single message from a computer or phone and sending the message to our members to any communication device you prefer, all at the same time. The web site is www.sprintmessenger.com if you would like to check it out. If you are interested in trying this service out for your business use, please contact Laurie Lemire at 866-287-2827.

Communication choices are:

Business Phone, Mobile Phone, Fax, E-mail or all of the devices, assuring us that you receive the message promptly, in the most convenient and efficient manner possible. Please call Dawn or Betty to designate a preference - 936-2323.

Thank you for your time and attention. Please let us know what you think…once we get it right.
