Marshall County has its own Problem Waste Collection Facility. The facility is designed to better serve residential households and small businesses in Marshall County. Most of the problem wastes accepted at the facility are recycled or reused in some way. Most importantly, this service ensures that potentially dangerous wastes are properly treated to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents of Marshall County. The site www.am1050.com, was initiated in an effort to better inform the public of the events that effect the life of Marshall County residents. Included in the web-site briefs are the details of breaking stories, reports on various city, school and organizations meetings, along with sports scores and much more. Information is available on the site for several days with updates reported on a daily basis. Included also is a daily weather forecast. Wallace E. Summerville, General Manager of Marshall County REMC, is pleased to announce the formation of a new partnership with TransWorld Network Corporation. Their goal is to provide competitive Long Distance service to its customers and to surrounding area residents. Mr. Summerville, in a letter to REMC customers, noted: “In recent years, we've seen many changes in our organization. As our membership grows and changes, Marshall County REMC continues to make extraordinary efforts to meet your (the REMC customers) evolving needs. Marshall County Historical Museum

The Marshall County Historical Society will be conducting a Charity Auction to benefit the museum's future expansion project on April 23rd. Preview and silent auction will start at 3:00 PM with the silent auction ending at 6:00 PM. The vocal auction will start at 5:30 PM. The auction will be held in the former Niles Lankford Group building at 119-121 N. Michigan St. Donations of items, such as quilts, Civil War items, antique toys and other collectibles are now being accepted for the silent and vocal auction. If you have items you would like to donate, please stop by the museum at 123 N. Michigan St. or call 574-936-2306.
