McKesson Title Corp. located at 407 N. Center Street, is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year! Back when, (1919), D.L. McKesson started the company to service the Marshall County Savings and Loan. The legendary Florence Hoham was its first abstractor. Later, Dale and Rosella McKesson ran the title and typed the abstracts. They developed a title plant unequalled here and served all realtors and banks. Now, Jon McKesson (the son) and Lynn Erickson (his wife) operate McKesson Title - expanding its services to 8 counties. They are backed up by Jean Mayer, Linda Boswell, Linda Emenaker and Amanda McKesson.
Marshall County 3rd Annual Job Fest 1999 will be held on Saturday, April 17, 1999, from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon, at Menominee Elementary School in Plymouth. Job Fest brings young job seekers and area businesses together with the goals of providing 16-21 year-olds the opportunity for employment, and for businesses to hire quality workers. This program is sponsored by Workforce Development Services and implemented in collaboration with Workforce Opportunity Advisory Communities (WOC). WOC is comprised of individuals from their respective counties of Elkhart, Kosciusko, and Marshall, and functions independently with the responsibilities of planning, organizing and implementing the project. During the one day event, employers prescreen prospective employees, issue job applications and provide information on job requirements, duties and responsibilities. The young adults learn what types of jobs match their career goals and, in most cases, are hired and receive valuable on-the-job and/or vocational related knowledge. Last year 16 area businesses participated in Job Fest 1998 and 27 young adults gained employment. CrossRoads Restaurant & Lounge located at 2513 N. Michigan Street, has announced their new restaurant hours and the introduction of their new menu. Their new hours include Sunday lunch buffet from 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Daily hours include Monday thru Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information, call 935-9945.
