Soccer - It's a Play in the Grass !!! Construction is underway at the corner of Baker and Randolph Streets for the new Plymouth Soccerplex. The Project is being funded though the generosity of Barbara and Don Kindt. The Soccerplex is the latest in a series of outstanding facilities given to the Plymouth Community by the generosity of local business owners.
Designed by B. A. Martin Architects and Ken Herceg and Associates, the project includes soccer fields for boys and girls varsity and junior varsity, and a practice field. There will be a building that will house restroom facilities and a concession stand. There will be a grandstand that will have seating for over 700 of our community's enthusiastic soccer fans, along with a pressbox to overlook and report on the play. The complex will have lighting to support evening games. When completed, the Plymouth Soccerplex will be the premier high school soccer venue in Northern Indiana.
Wythougan Valley Preservation Council, a local not-for-profit corporation will own the facility through the completion of construction, at which time the project will be returned to Plymouth Community Schools. Easterday Construction Company, Inc. 402 N. State St., Culver, is the general contractor for the project. Construction is scheduled for completion late this summer and the field will be ready for play beginning with the 2001 season.
