Marshall County Unit of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life A Team Event to Fight Cancer
June 10 - 11, 2000 at Centennial Park Plymouth, IN 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Your Chamber Board of Directors has formed a team! . . . AND CHALLENGE OUR MEMBERS TO COMPETE (for fun and a "trophy") WITH YOUR BOARD in the FUN...D raising effort for the fight against cancer. We challenge you to be a Chamber Champ.
Brief summary of the event: This is a twelve hour event in which team members take turns walking or running around the track. While one or two members of your team are "clicking off the miles," the rest of the team can pitch a tent, roast marshmallows, play games and enjoy the entertainment, until it is your next team members' turn. This relay continues throughout the night . . . walk a little, eat a little, play a little and walk, amble, or jog some more.
Participants are asked to collect donations for cancer research, programs and services. There is a $10 registration fee for each participants. Form a team of 7 to 10 people (+), friends, co-workers and family members, choose your captain and contact Susie Reinholt, the Plymouth Public Library, Chamber Board Member, and our team captain at (219) 936-2324 (the Library), to receive your official Relay For Life entry forms and packet of information.
Event Activities: Opening Ceremony Cancer Survivors Victory Lap Entertainment Luminary Ceremony special Activities Contest Judging Live Music Closing Ceremony If you wish to be involved in this event, but do not wish to walk, jog, amble . . . you may sponsor a team, make a donation purchase a luminary or volunteer to assist the day of the event.
Two of our Chamber members presented this challenge to the Board, Linda Rippy, Marshall County Museum and Susie Reinholt, Plymouth Public Library. Now your Chamber Board challenges our members to a night of community, family fun and an experience to remember - all for a worthy cause.
