There is an ongoing cell phone collection program, which provides aid to victims of domestic violence called HopeLine and is also a service of Verizon Wireless. Cell phones to be recycled may be dropped of to the local victim's assistance office or at the MC Solid Waste District (who will forward them on to the victim's assistance office).

The 1st of May 2003 marks the 30th anniversary of the Country Charm Cleaning Center in Plymouth Center by Krogers and Pizza Hut. Besides the self service laundry, there is also drop-off laundry service, dry cleaning and shirt service. There are more than 100 pieces of equipment to provide these services. More new large washers were installed last month. There are 6 employees with a total of 88 years working at the Country Charm. Victor & Mary Lou Stockman opened the very first coin-laundry in Marshall County in 1959. This was the Up-Town Laundromat located at the corner of West LaPorte and Center St. where the fire station is now located.

This summer, Wednesday nights 5:00-10:00 PM beginning May 7th and running through mid August, Quick is having bowl for charity function. Quick will be donating half of the cost of open bowling to a local organization of the bowlers choice. The bowler may choose from the following list of organization: The American Red Cross M. C. Chapter, Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County, Marshall County Humane Society, Marshall County Hospice.

IUSB Off-Campus Programs
113 East Washington Street, Plymouth; 574-936-1954 Placement testing is now available in Plymouth for incoming students. Exams will be given for reading, English and mathematics. Tests will be administered on Saturday, May 17, July 12 and August 9. Testing will take place at the Old Fire Station located at 220 N. Center St. Testing begins at 8:30 AM. Ancilla Domini College

Union Road, PO Box 1, Donaldson; 574-936-8898 To help keep military families connected, Ancilla College has announced that its computer labs will be open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM weekdays so that the community can email their loved ones in the military. Student volunteers will assist residents in using the computers or setting up a free email account on the Internet. The college is also making its videoconferencing technology available allowing families to see and speak to their loved ones in the military. To arrange any of these services, please contact Fr. Ancilla Summer Administrative Office Hours began May 5. The college will begin "summer" hours Monday through Thursday with administrative offices open 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday. These hours will be effective until August 1, 2003. Administrative offices have also temporarily moved to the Motherhouse Wing during the summer due to construction.
