Managing Your Health Care Costs
By Lori Price RN, MSA, CHE

Medical Center Plymouth
Health care is changing rapidly. Twenty-five years ago most people in the United States had indemnity insurance coverage. This coverage would allow a person to go to any doctor, hospital or other provider and the insurance company and the patient would share the cost of the bill. Fairly simple and straight forward.
Today, however, there is a complex range of plans from HMO's, PPO's or deductible plans from which to choose. But as an employer, what is best for your employees and for your bottom line? Rising insurance costs and rising employee expectations are a difficult thing to balance.
On Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at 8:00 a.m. Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center-Plymouth will be presenting a free seminar on Managing your healthcare costs. The seminar will be held at Christo's Banquet Center. The goal of this seminar is to share a six point approach to lowering your healthcare costs.
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Plymouth wants to work with you so that we can all provide a healthier Marshall County community. In addition to discussing these six points, we will offer resources to help educate your work force on health care and insurance related issues.
It is my hope to reach all of the area businesses and address any questions you may have. Feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail prior to the meeting, if you have a specific question in mind that you would like us to address. I can be reached at 935-2263 or at pricel@sjrmc.com.
