Russell Studio
2255 E. Shore Drive, Culver; 800-480-8660 or 574-842-4232; www.russellstudio.com
Russell Studio has made a specialty of traveling to clients to do family or executive portraits on location, where subjects are at ease in their own surroundings. Russell Studio customizes portrait sittings on location and has made an art form of painting with light. In the past ninety-nine years, Russell has built a four-generation clientele from Florida to Michigan. The studio's credentials include portraits of a Pope, five US Presidents, Norman Rockwell for two covers of The Saturday Evening Post, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, and a former Miss America. Russell opened a studio at Gaskill's farm near Culver in 1986 to serve Academy students and parents, growing into a senior portrait business serving seniors from Granger to Greenwood. Dave Gaskill now does custom sittings in his own 12-acre portrait park, complete with large water features and woods. Commissioned work to do location weddings has spread from Stowe, Vermont to Tampa, Florida to Nashville, TN to Plymouth, IN. Visit their website to visualize important portrait opportunities from weddings, through childhood to senior portraits, from executive portraits and parents together to three and four generations. Spontaneity of the Shutter enables portrait photographs to be commissioned into oils, watercolors and pastels by the studio's noted painter Marilyn Zapp of San Juan Capistrano, CA. Russell Studio portraits are hanging at Treat's Bridal Shoppe, Penguin Point and Christo's Banquet Center.
