The Plymouth Rotary will be holding their tenth annual golf outing on Friday, August 12, 2005 at 12:00 PM. It is being held at the Plymouth Rock Golf Course. In the past the Rotary has used this event to help benefit others in the community of Plymouth with donations to: Boys and Girls Club, Hospice of Marshall Co., Older Adult Services, Rotary Youth Camp, Saint Joseph Clinic, Pride in Plymouth, and Plymouth High School Scholarships. Rachel's Home, existing for almost 12 years, provides housing for girls/women of all ages in crisis pregnancies. Due to the continuing support of the community, they have been able to provide a Christ-centered, family atmosphere at no cost to the women. Upcoming Fundraising Events include: Elephant Ear Sale at Kroger's, May 12-14, from 12-8PM., Third Annual New Life Concert at the Plymouth Amphitheater on June 26th., homemade ice cream, furnished by the Walnut Church of the Brethren, will be served at 1:30 PM. Various local Christian groups will start performing at approximately 2:00 PM and end at approximately 4:30 PM.

The Annual Ancilla College Golf Tournament is set to take place at the Plymouth Country Club, overlooking Pretty Lake in Plymouth, on Monday, June 13, 2005. The tournament will follow the four-person Florida scramble format. This year will feature a catered cook-out lunch and golfers will be welcomed at the ninth hole by the always popular, Heavenly Putters. The “Putters” offer the opportunity to save a stroke if a golfer gives a small donation and allows a PHJC Sister to take a putt for them. The main goal of the tournament is to raise funds for the college to provide educational opportunities. If you are interested in entering a team or being a hole sponsor, please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 574-936-8898 ext. 355. There will also be some individual slots available on teams needing to fill out their foursome. On May 8th, the Bookworm, Inc. will celebrate it's 7th Anniversary. On May 8, 1998, Kay Garrison and Dee Eck started the Bookworm out of love for books and the desire to serve Marshall County and the surrounding communities with good reading. On Nov. 20, 2003 Dee passed away suddenly and left a big void. Since that time Kay has stayed at the helm alone. The Bookworm is proud to be Marshall County's locally owned, full service, independent bookstore. “Thank you to all our customers for making these past 7 years full of wonderful memories.
