Join A Committee? Since 1924 the Plymouth Chamber has been committed to the advancement of the Plymouth area community -our community -your community! Down through these years Chamber members' voices have been heard through the committees on which they serve.
A local chamber's work is determined by the needs of their community. It is not a government agency. It is an entity which brings together in a membership, their local business community in order to promote the membership businesses and support and enhance the quality of life for their community. One of the mechanisms to facilitate this mission is the Chamber Committee.
Your Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce has six established committees meeting on a monthly or quarterly basis. The Community & Business Development Committee meets the 4th Wednesday of each month at noon. Their focus is to enhance and improve the community and business climate. The Public Relations/Tourism Committee meets at noon on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Their focus is to promote Chamber members and activities through communication and events.
Meeting on a quarterly basis are the Ambassador/Membership (meeting on the 2nd Tuesday morning) and Retail Merchants Committees (meeting on the 3rd Tuesday evening). The Ambassador/Membership Committee welcomes new businesses to Plymouth and their focus is on Chamber activities through member input and involvement and to develop membership. The Retail Merchants Committee assists our retail members with activities and programs to enhance the retail sales climate.
The Legislative Committee monitors state and local government issues.
If you are interested in becoming a part of your Chamber by serving as a committee member, please call the Chamber office at 936-2323.
