| November 1997 The Plymouth Area Chamber Of Commerce Gift Certificates A way to promote our community . . . This Gift Certificate program is very easy to use. The certificates are purchased by you, the gift giver, from the Chamber office and presented as gifts or as part of an employee bonus program. The Chamber staff needs sufficient lead time to type each individual certificate with the pertinent information you supply, i.e. the dollar amount (up to $50.00 per certificate), the recipient's name, if you wish, and the gift giver's name (either an individual's or a company's name). You purchase by cash or a check made out to the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce and pick up the certificate(s). The recipient is given, along with the gift certificate, a list of the participating Chamber Members' Businesses from which to purchase goods and services. Member merchants should treat this just like cash. (Note, these "look" like a second party check since they may be personalized to the recipient, and must be endorsed like one . . . but remember these are purchased certificates and the money goes right into the bank account especially developed for these - so they are always covered - these are "as good as gold".) These gift certificates will bring, perhaps new and definitely previous, customers to member businesses, think of the advertising dollars businesses spend to accomplish that feat! Thousands of dollars worth of these gift certificates have been in circulation over the Christmas Holidays. A vast number of these certificates were purchased by some of Plymouth's industrial businesses for their employees. Many were and are purchased by individuals as gifts of all types throughout the year. The Plymouth Chamber of Commerce sincerely hopes you will take advantage of this program. It is a great way to give and a great way to Shop Plymouth First! |
