Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration 1997

The tree stands, decorated but dark.
People are gathering, The evening is cool.
The stars are viewing from above.
Music starts to play. Voices are heard . . .
memories stirred.

Down North Michigan Street a siren calls the arrival of the special guest for this event. Hosted by the Mayor of Plymouth, Jack Greenlee rides the fire truck with the guest of honor, the man in red, with cheeks of cherries - Santa! And who's along to protect this famous elf? No one other than Sparky, Plymouth's very own Fire Station Dalmatian. With much ado and fanfare our city's fair tree blooms with light - and the Christmas Season begins.
Do not miss this Plymouth community event!
