2003 United Way Campaign
"What Matters?"
United Way of Marshall County provides critical funding to the human service agencies in our county. Organizations involved in providing youth services, health care and family services are all supported by the United Way. However, the United Way does not just serve the disadvantaged. By supporting Scouting, Little Leagues and organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County and the Culver Community Youth Center, many additional residents benefit as a result of your United Way dollars.
As the chairman for the 2003 Campaign, my goal is to engage all of the resources in Marshall County: businesses, employees (both in county and out of county), retired and self-employed individuals and students. After all, it will ultimately be this collective group of organizations and individuals that will benefit from either directly or indirectly from the money raised in this campaign.
The theme for this year's campaign is 'What Matters? to me, the people of Marshall County matter. People who so generously give of their time to join me as a volunteer to help make this worthy cause a success. People who are willing to contribute their hard earned money to help us provide a better place to live for everyone. People who work in those social service organizations that make a difference in the lives of the individuals they serve. And finally, people who are able to benefit from the services offered by these agencies to help them through difficult times or whose children benefit from United Way's involvement in their activities.
I am extremely proud to be associated with the United Way of Marshall County. While most national fund raising organizations are able to return 55-65% of the money collected directly to their cause, United Way of Marshall County is able to return 83% directly to their Member Agencies.
Joining me this year as the vice-chairman for the campaign is John Chamberlin from Edward Jones. The following volunteer citizens comprise my campaign cabinet.
