Wild Birds Unlimited is celebrating their FIRST Anniversary on September 23, 24, and 25. WBU want to extend their sincerest appreciation to the community for helping to make this first year a successful one. In celebration for all the wonderful support from the community, refreshments will be served throughout this special weekend event. The event plans include giving free Peanut Feeders away, while supplies last, with every purchase of a 5 lb. bag of roasted peanut pick-outs. There will also be a drawing to win a WBU Signature Classic wooden seed feeder. The Drawing will be held at the end of the business day on Sunday, September 25. On Saturday, September 24 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, visit with the Fresh Wave representative. Fresh Wave is a brand new natural odor-neutralizing product.

Indiana Leaders of Tomorrow
Do you know a student who has made a difference in his or her community? Sprint along with co-host, The Pilot News, are sponsoring the Indiana Leaders of Tomorrow program, giving you the chance to acknowledge those contributions. Leaders of Tomorrow recognizes young people who have been active volunteers in their communities. Last year, Sprint recognized over 350 students. A committee of local judges will select 13 finalists from around the state. One overall winner from this group will be selected as the 2005 Leader of Tomorrow. The finalists and the schools they attend will each receive a $500 cash award. The top finalist will receive $2,500 for college, and his or her high school will receive a $2,500 donation from Sprint. A letter to the Mayor we wanted to share.
Mayor Cook,

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit Plymouth on a couple of occasions while spending the weekend at the Jellystone RV park on U.S. 30. (We travel full-time in our motor home.)

We were much impressed with the obvious pride "main street" owners have taken in the appearance and vitality of the downtown area. In our lifestyle, we get to visit scores of towns the size of Plymouth all across the nation. You have something special there! The town seems like a wonderful place to live and the downtown area is certain to draw us back the next time we are in the area.

- is the thank you note from the $1000 in chamber gift certificates winner of the Scavenger Hunt Promotion conducted this summer. This promotion was the most well received ever - people loved it!
Dear Mr. Anspach,

I would like to thank the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce for presenting me the $1000 gift certificates I won participating in the Scavenger Hunt!

I certainly had fun visiting the merchants who participated and trying to solve all those clever clues! (I think many of the merchants had as much fun as those of us playing did!)

I would like to commend the committee for their great work in planning and implementing the Scavenger Hunt Promotion: Kay Garrison, Rich Holland, Shawn Morrow, Jill Olson Steve Olson and Barb Wendel. They did an excellent job in organizing this unique/fun way to promote the city of Plymouth and the fine business establishments.

I do hope that you can plan another Scavenger Hunt and I hope more businesses choose to participate! I really looked forward to my weekly ventures and discovering so many nice people along the way!

My first purchase was a book (from the Bookworm) for each and every one of my students in my classroom! Each student will be allowed to select a book of their choice from my "treasure basket" at our Open House on Monday evening. I also posted a picture and a little "write-up" of my own on my classroom web page.
