| Educational Opportunities Donaldson, IN 46513 1-574-936-8898 or 1-866-ANCILLA www.ancilla.edu Ancilla College, located in Donaldson, Indiana, eight miles west of Plymouth, was organized as a two-year college specializing in teacher training in 1937 by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ religious order. In 1966 the College was enlarged and its programs expanded to admit area students who were interested in pursuing higher education.Since 1966, Ancilla has combined various career preparation programs with its liberal arts orientation. It now serves traditional and non-traditional students primarily from a seven-county area in northern Indiana and seeks to meet needs of the community, business, and industry. As the College continues to grow, it reaches out further to provide higher education to interested persons by offering classes at off-campus locations in the surrounding areas. Ancilla is the only accredited private, nonprofit two-year college in Indiana. Accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Ancilla College is incorporated in the state of Indiana and chartered to grant the Associate of Arts Degree (AA), the Associate of Science Degree (AS), and the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ASN). The College's enrollment for fall 2006 was approximately 500 students. Tuition for the 2007-2008 year is $375 per credit hour ($11,250 per year based on 15 hours per semester). Ancilla College features state-of-the-art PC hardware and software, learning aids, and digital presentation. Shared workspace with wireless internet access is available, allowing students to stay up-to-date with the latest in computer technology. Ancilla is a member of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association and offers the following varsity team athletics: men's and women's basketball, men's soccer, women's volleyball, golf, baseball, softball, and cheerleading. Athletic venues include The LifePlex, Swan Lake Resort, and the Charger Fields complex. The LifePlex, which opened in March of 2007, is located in Plymouth at the intersection of US 30 and Pine Rd. and serves as the home of men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball. The LifePlex is also the official training facility for all Charger athletics. Swan Lake, located at 5203 Plymouth-LaPorte Trail in Plymouth, acts as the home course for the golf team. The Charger Fields complex, located on the south end of the Ancilla campus at the intersection of Upas and 9B Rd., includes the home fields for baseball, softball, and men's soccer. The College also sponsors a chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa national honor society, a student nurses organization, student government, student ambassadors, and a student newspaper.
